Frequently Asked

All the A's to your Q's

How long does it take to build a website?

The timeline really depends on the scope of your project. Generally, my design phase takes around 3-4 weeks, but this can vary with revisions and project complexity. If I’m also developing the site, add another 3-4 weeks for coding and testing.

So, for a full design and development project, expect around 6-8 weeks total, but we’ll discuss a more accurate timeline once I understand the details.

What’s the process like, will I be involved?

The process starts with a conversation to understand your goals, business, brand, and project scope. We then move into the design phase, where I ensure there’s plenty of room for collaboration and feedback, so you’re involved every step of the way.

If I’m also handling development, this phase begins once the design is finalised, where I bring the design to life. Throughout, I’ll guide you on what works best, drawing on my experience in both design and development.

What if I already have a website, can you just improve it?

That depends on your current site’s platform and setup. In general, I start with an analysis of the design and best practices and work with you to identify areas for improvement. If your site is on a platform I work with and meets best practices, I can likely work with what you have. However, in many cases, a full redesign is the best approach to ensure everything works seamlessly.

I have a useful article on how to identify when your website is due a redesign .

How much does a new website cost, are there any ongoing fees?

My design work starts from £800, and design plus development starts from £1400. Once we agree on a price and project scope, they’re set. There are no hidden fees or surprises as long as we stick to the original plan.

I also offer support packages for ongoing updates after launch, which we’ll agree on upfront, so you’re always in the loop about costs.

Will my website be mobile-friendly?

Absolutely. With so many users on mobile, I make sure your site looks and works great on all devices. I design with a mobile-first approach, meaning the site’s structure, usability, and design are optimised for mobile from the start, ensuring a seamless experience for every user.

Will my website be SEO-friendly?

Yes, all the websites I develop come with a solid SEO foundation, including essential meta tags, clean code, and best practices that make it easier for Google to index your pages. This gives you a good base to start building your online presence.

But do keep in mind, I currently do not offer ongoing SEO support and content creation as a service.
